Use your wings.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this term ‘winging it’. A friend recently asked me how I was doing and I responded with the above. After texting her back, I realised that I was unnecessarily giving myself a hard time.
I work hard. I spend a lot of time planning and executing things for home, kids, work and life in general. I managed to reduce it to, “Oh you know, winging it….”
It got me thinking a bit it deeper. What does that even mean? The fact that I run around trying to keep everything going means that I’m not winging it. In fact most if not all the people I know are trying their hardest and doing the best they can from what I see. It’s the opposite to ‘winging it’.
I saw this T-shirt and the message resonated with me.
“Use your Wings ”
Suppose winging it means using your wings? All your skills, talents and efforts thrown in together. Let’s face it this is what most people I know are doing if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve flipped it. Winging it means keeping on with keeping on and not giving up in the face of challenges, adversity and resistance.
Winging it for me now means using your wings. We’re all simply trying our best. Keep going. I’m sure we’re all doing much better than we give ourselves credit for.
What does ‘winging it’ mean to you?
Self kindness, always.
Much love,
